This is a place full of historical significance, as it was here that the chains of pardon were located. It was here that Charles I granted pardon to all those pilgrims who were able to cross these chains.
This place also includes the Cruceiro dos Lameiros, considered one of the oldest in Galicia and used as a landmark and reference sign by pilgrims, both past and present. In this area also sits the Carballo dos Lameiros, a centuries-old oak tree that served as the setting for the discovery of the effigy of a virgin and a place where pilgrims continue to throw coins as they pass, a gesture that is now a tradition
